Valor Fights is heading towards the Evolution Sports Gym in #Elizabethton on Saturday with fight matchups that will have the die-hard MMA fans sitting on the edge of their seats. I’m going to preview two matchups’ that should cause you to grab your homie by the ears and scream, “It’s going to be a war!”
Catchweight 160 lbs.: Kobe Wall vs. Zach Cook
Kobe Wall (3-0) Fighting out of Striker Fight Center in Kennesaw, Ga. Even though Wall is a three-stripe purple belt under Juan Guevara and all his wins come via submission, Wall is a stand-up-and-bang type of fighter. “Stand-up is my business, and if he wants to stand and bang then I predict a win by the end of the 1st round,” said Wall. Wall’s stand-up is indeed good but he has two other main weapons at his disposal. If you include all his amateur bouts, Wall’s fighting experience weighs heavy with 25 total fights. That combined with his high-level Brazilian jiu-uitsu that hails back the legendary Machado’s makes him a real threat for anyone on the ground. Wall is trying to finish the fight at all times which makes him one of the most exciting fighters to watch on this entire card.
Zach Cook (3-3), 28, fighting out of Columbus, Ohio from the Team Chaos fight camp. When watching a Zach Cook fight there are some things you need to be prepared for. For one, there isn’t a feeling out process for Mr. Cook. In fact, at the sound of the first bell he goes off like shotgun blast! So there you go fight fans, I warned you. This fight will be full on at exactly one second into the fight! Cook is extremely athletic and seems to favor a more creative and unorthodox fighting style. He’s the first fighter I’ve ever seen drop double hammer fists effectively. Seriously, who else does that? This former high school running back has real power and a mere glancing blow from him can place his opponent in deep waters.
I’m a sucker for fighters that are willing to be creative and improvise on the spot. This is why I’m having such a hard time picking against Cook. Fight experience and technique almost always win. Wall’s 25 fight experience and higher level Jiu-Jitsu will be too much for Cook. If you miss this fight don’t blame me because I told you flat out - This fight will be a fan favorite!
Prediction: Wall wins via 2nd-round submission.
